This is basically a promotional blog post for a mate of mine who’s an excellent mechanic, based in Bulwell, Nottingham. Jim Byatt of Build Cycle Works offers quality servicing, repairs, bike builds, a full range of wheel repairs and bespoke or off the shelf wheel building.
Jim has been a bike mechanic for over 17 years, and has built, serviced, and repaired most of my bikes (as we all know, the proper number of bikes to own is N+1), serviced my suspension forks and shocks, and he’s built some super strong wheels for me too – I’m a bit heavy on rear wheels, but anything Jim builds holds up way better than anything that I’ve bought elsewhere.
His workshop is open on weekdays, and he offers drop-off and pickup times to suit busy people. Build Cycle Works can also supply a great range of spares like chains, cables and bearings as well as products from brands like Rotor, KMC, Schwalbe, Continental, Miche, Huck Norris and many others.
